“…distinctive...”

-- The Clarinet and Saxophone Magazine

Cristo Barrios is a rare jewel among today’s clarinetists.
Trained at Tenerife Conservatory (Spain) and The Royal
Academy of Music, he has won numerous international
competitions, including the Yamaha Music Foundation
(London), The Primer Paulo Competition (Barcelona),
and the CHAIN Concours Modèrne (Riga). He has toured
extensively in Europe and abroad, both as a soloist and
with distinguished chamber ensembles, including the
Endellion String Quartet and the Arditti String Quartet.

His keen interest in contemporary works and superb
interpretive abilities makes him a sought-after soloist
among current composers, bringing a triumphant recent
premiere of Cantus Firmus by Blai Soler. With contagious
enthusiasm, Cristo Barrios breaks barriers for the
clarinet!
