We believe that the youth in our audiences are our future concertgoers and performers. To that end, we
encourage our artists to offer educational programming that supplements and enhances the concert
performance. Our Star Education Program offers our artists the opportunity to present either a 45-minute Master Class or 45-minute Matinee. These programs are specifically designed to spark interest and enthusiasm in the performing arts and to introduce “world class” artists to students and local communities on a personal level. A portion of the proceeds from each Star Education performance is dedicated to provide scholarships to deserving students from Live On Stage communities.
The Arts In Action Scholarship is a one-time, $1,000 grant available to university or college-bound high school seniors or current university freshmen, sophomores, or juniors seeking a career path in "entertainment arts". Applicants are encouraged to attend Star Education programs, but ultimately must be sponsored by a presenter affiliated with Live On Stage. Live On Stage is dedicated to promoting entertainment and education on the local level.

Patricia Cardona will be a Music Performance Major for flute at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance (2008). Patricia had her debut with the Salem Chamber Orchestra in 2008
and is an Artist for Sonare Winds Flutes. She has won numerous solo awards at the district and state levels, and was the
2008 MTNA NW Senior Division Woodwind national alternate.
Additionally, Patricia has been principal flute and/or piccolo for city, state and NW Honor Bands as well as the Salem Youth
Symphony..

Savannah Berry will be attending Virginia Commonwealth University. She plans to major in Music Performance with an emphasis in voice. Savannah is an excellent student maintaining 3.96 through High School while still being involved in the
Culpeper high school Choir, Community Theater with Windmore
Foundation of the Arts & Woodberry Forest School, and All State Choir. She is a well-rounded young woman who is sure to succeed.
