2007 ARTS IN ACTION SCHOLARSHIP
Nashville, TN - Live on Stage, Inc. is proud to announce the 2007 Arts in Action Scholarship recipients – Monique Barber of Hemet, CA, Kimberly Henn of Finksburg, MD, and Janna Wilhelm of Bullhead City, AZ . These three outstanding university students have received a $1,000.00 scholarship because of their efforts within their communities and through the arts.
The Arts in Action Scholarship is sponsored by Live On Stage, Inc. and uses a portion of the profit from the student outreach program, Encore, to support higher education. The goal of the scholarship is to encourage more young people to become involved in the arts. Through the assistance of the Community Concert Associations throughout the country, Live On Stage, Inc. is committed to providing educational support.
Monique Barber will be attending the University of California, Berkeley in the Fall to begin her pursuit as a Music Therapist. While attending UC, Berkeley, Monique will double major in music and psychology. Monique enjoys private vocal lessons that enhance her passion for classical music. Monique was sponsored by the Hemet Community Concert Association in Hemet, California.
Recent high school graduate, Kimberly Henn will be attending Salisbury University, where she will study Communications, with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. Kimberly has participated extensively in the drama and music programs in her school and within her concert association. Kimberly was sponsored by the Carroll County Community Concert Association in Westminster, Maryland.
Entering as a freshman, Janna Wilhelm will be attending California Lutheran University and will be majoring in Music Education. Janna aspires to be a vocal teacher and played a large role in her school’s choral and performance programs. Janna was sponsored by the Colorado River Concert Association in Bullhead City, Arizona.
