I just returned from the Northwest Indiana Concert in Munster, IN where I heard the Prima Trio.  What a happy experience.  It was a breath of fresh air.  These amazingly talented young people kept me  concentrating on the music and absolutely distracted from my arthritis pain. My rheumatologist should prescribe their concerts.

On November 15th we had the pleasure of hearing Yana Reznik perform on our entertainment series here in Greenville, Texas. She is truly a world class pianist! Her program included a variety of style periods which revealed her clear understanding of music history. Ms. Reznik has a prodigious technique, and plays with great sensitivity, both of which she used to communicate outstanding interpretations of the works she performed. I thought that I should probably be in Houston, Dallas, New York, Chicago or other major cities to be hearing an artist of this stature. Thanks for presenting her in concert here in Greenville, Texas!  I hope she continues to enjoy a superlative career.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ted H.

We recently enjoyed Terry Barber’s concert in Sunnyside, WA.  The variety of his selections was wonderful and his range of voice was simply amazing.  This was one of the best concerts we have ever seen, not only in our small town but the entire Northwest.  What an engaging personality.  Jamie Dyer, as accompanist, was superb.

I’ve been to concerts in Portland OR, San Francisco, Honolulu, New York, and Sydney. We’re surprised to now find ourselves living here in Northern Oklahoma, and even more surprised and delighted with the performance in Ponca City.

Maybe I’m not used to chamber groups, but I never saw eyes flashing, looking and darting about like I saw that night. I’m really sorry there were not more among the 25,000 town residents in attendance; clearly their loss.

The selections were astute – people with little exposure to classical music couldn’t help but be impressed. Continue reading »

Collin Raye drew a very large number of fans from across the state, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how Live On Stage continues to offer artists with name recognition. It really helps us sell our season, and raise awareness of our association.

Mr. Raye’s compassion came through in all his stories and songs to the delight of the audience who often sang along with him. “Love Remains” was especially touching as Mr. Raye dedicated it to the family of Ken Worthington, one of the original founders of LIVE! in Lexington who was endeared by many and who died earlier this year.

Heard Terry Barber in concert at the Umpqua Community College, Roseburg, Oregon Nov. 15, 2012.  He was amazing.  Three of us attended and enjoyed it tremendously.  Did not know what a countertenor was, and I sing baritone in a  women’s barbershop chorus.  Two of us have extensive musical backgrounds, and we loved his talent, vocal range, and power of his voice.  Wonderful concert.  The Ave Maria brought tears to my eyes, and I have sang that song many times.  He has a beautiful God-given talent, and would love to see him again

Thank you,

Norma B.

Last night we saw VoicePlay (42Five) perform at the McAllen, TX Convention Center.  I have never written about a performance before but I had to this time.  It was totally wonderful…VoicePlay was absolutely outstanding and I think the rest of the audience felt the same way.  Because the audience is almost completely retired senior citizens they are usually out the door before the final song finishes but last night was the exception which is a major complement in itself.  The performers were top notch, the singing and comedy were outstanding and we had a wonderful time.  We were laughing almost all the way home recalling the rooster song.  Thank you so much for representing this wonderful group and I hope they continue to enjoy success and I really hope to see them again.

On Nov 11th, I attended a concert in Ukiah, CA of “Voiceplay” (42Five). I have an a cappella background and (I) am a former “barbershoper” currently singing in several groups and running sound.  It was a thrilling multimedia performance even though I am opposed to electronic amplification. I had a great afternoon. They made the most use of technology. I give them the highest rating.

Thanks,

Dexter K.
