We are saddened to relay the passing of Lynn Wright, pianist of “Pianafiddle.”
Many of you were thrilled by the live performances of Pianafiddle.
Pianist Lynn Wright has been very ill. Musical partner and friend, Violinist Adam DeGraff offered a touching musical performance in dedication to his partnership with Lynn in recent days. In light of the deep association between Live On Stage and these two remarkable musicians, we are sharing Adam’s performance with you. Amazing Grace is a standard, to be sure, but as always, Adam plays with panache, originality and dignity.
Here is Adam’s note to Live On Stage staff yesterday:
“Hi There,
My longtime friend and former band-mate, Lynn Wright, is sick with cancer. Things are looking bleak and I feel sad. I wanted to dedicate this solo violin version of Amazing Grace to Lynn.”
This morning, we received this note from Adam:
“Dear Laura and everybody at LOS,
It is with great sadness that I share with you all that Lynn Wright, my friend, musical partner, and the better half of Pianafiddle, passed away last night.
I have uploaded a free MP3 of Lynn’s favorite song to my website. It’s called “When I Grow Too Old To Dream.” I hope you’ll take a minute to listen to that soulful playing, just one more time. God, was he good!

Love you all!”
Thank you, Adam.
To Lynn’s family and friends, our thoughts and prayers are with you!
Lynn, we are grateful for your profound service to the culture of each of our communities. Thank you.

Thinking of Lynn and Adam’s concerts bring many happy memories. Thank you for your gift of music to the Live on Stage concerts. Not only was your music very entertaining but you related so well to the audience. We LOVED you!
Lynn Wright’s passing is sad, very sad. What a musician!! And, his relaxed manner for humor was simply unforgettable. Our concert members, especially the Episcopalians, often ask about him. The music world has been left an irreplaceable void.
